Description
Completed 4/23/2017. Started out as a doodle that I refined here. Most of my abstracts start as a random sketch on a piece of scratch paper with no particular plan. Then I see something appealing and I draw it again more refined. The odd thing about that scroll in the center is that a lot of people come up with it independently from all over the world. I never gave it much thought until one day I saw something that looked a lot like my own pattern in an ancient jewelry artifact. Genetic memory perhaps?
I did the center pieces from scratch, but I used my personal premade stock image to copy and paste for the round beads:

...and the rings on the outer edges I did only once and then copied and pasted them on to some of the beads. Then later as I saw that there could be more of a pattern, I just copied and pasted the modified beads where they needed to be. It is one of the nicer things about digital art, that copy and paste thing. If I was drawing this by hand, I would have a harder time keeping all the details consistent. Also, one of the odd things about abstracts by hand, they are more simple than what I normally draw, but for some reason I find they take a lot more effort and energy. I would think that the more complex drawings of animals, still lifes and animals would take more energy, but they don't. It's just weird.
